Eblana String Trio and Jâms Coleman (piano)

The Eblana String Trio was formed in 2006, and has performed around the UK and beyond, often in collaboration with other musicians to present works beyond the wonderful, but small, string trio repertoire.  They are joined by rising star Jâms Coleman, who enjoys performing as a soloist, chamber musician and vocal accompanist.  In 2022-3 Jâms performed at the BBC Proms, London's Kings Place, and The Royal Concertgebouw, Amsterdam.

The string trios in the first half include Schubert's tuneful single movement work and the engaging five movement Serenade, with its spiky scherzo, by Hungarian Ernst von Dohnányi.  Gerald Finzi's short prelude and fugue features in the Eblana Trio's recording of British works.  Brahms continues the Hungarian theme in his monumental first piano quartet, which ends with a rollicking Hungarian dance.
